WHAT I AM USING
About Summer Fridays
Summer Fridays co-founders Marianna Hewitt and Lauren Gores Ireland are influencers/bloggers and they joined forces to create Summer Fridays – a skincare brand that they say is ‘about feeling confident in clear, beautiful skin so you can focus on the fun stuff’.
The products are paraben, sulphate and cruelty free, they claim not to use synthetics, dyes and fragrances (although the products have a scent) and is vegan.
Jet Lag face mask
‘Upgrade your skin to a business-class complexion—no matter what time your red-eye gets in, or what time your head hits the pillow. This uber-dewy, hydrating mask soothes thirsty, stressed-out skin by steeping cells in a nourishing mix of vitamins, ceramides, antioxidants and gently exfoliating extracts. Skin looks instantly renewed, radiant and ready for anything!‘ – Summer Fridays
The Jet Lag face mask (£22.50 for 28g – they have larger sizes too) packaging is very pretty and I am obsessed with the branding – I am a sucker for it. It looks chic in my beauty cabinet. The mask is in a tube with a screw top which stands so pretty on the shelf.
So let’s talk about the most important thing – The ingredients and skin benefits!
The Jet Lag main ingredients include:
1| Chestnut extract : This may help with soothing and has anti irritant and hydrating prosperities
2| Vitamin C : It’s an antioxidant that may help your skin with brightening, hydrating, helps reduce hyperpigmentation and helps promote collagen and elastin production (I definitely need this!)
3| Niacinamide : It’s a vitamin that may help reduce large pores, improve uneven skin tone and reduce fine lines (again another must for me!)
The texture of the face mask is like a moisturiser and applies easily onto the skin. The only thing I don’t like about this product is the smell – it smells like Deep Heat (muscle rub) but the smell doesn’t last. I have to double check the tube a few times when I am applying it as my brain gets very confused.
How to use
‘Apply a visible layer on cleansed, dry skin including under-eye area. Leave for a minimum of 10 minutes. Wipe off excess with a warm cloth or towel—no need to rinse!‘
FYI – Even if you have added a thin layer you may still want to just wipe off any excess. I can feel it still on the skin – it clumps up! even when I’ve only applied a thin layer.
I sometimes use Jet Lag as my night time moisturiser and I wake up with beautifully soft, glowing skin. I also add this to my moisturiser in the morning for a little hydration and is an amazing base for makeup! (A tip I got from Hannah– Thank you!) Final thoughts of Summer Fridays Jet Lag face mask
I love it! It’s beautiful and so hydrating especially as my skin gets drier in colder months. My skin feels and looks so glowy and plumped when I use this. I’m also loving how versatile it is and I can use it in so many different ways depending on the time of day and my skin condition. Guys I can cope with the smell as soon as my brain stops freaking out that’s it’s deep heat.
If you fancy trying other products from Summer Fridays, I am OBSESSED with the lip butter balm – it’s amazing! The product feels so lovely on the lips and it lasts for ages. It also smells like cake! – whoop whoop! I have the Overtime mask too but I haven’t tried this yet!
