WHAT I AM USING
Before we go into the review of the Ouai finishing creme let’s talk about Ouai (pronounced as ‘way’)
‘Ouai means yes, in that casual Parisian way. It’s about saying yes to real hair for real life. and to looking chic, no matter how many followers you have’ – Au
The Ouai brand was started by Jen Akins (Celebrity hair stylist) who has built a brand around the tag line ‘real life, real women’ and she describes the Ouai girl as hard working, wants to have fun, grounded, effortless, smart and cool – if that’s you then Ouai have your back!
‘A weightless styling creme that polishes and protects’ – Ouai
The finishing creme (£20 for 100ml – it lasts me ages) has smart keratin and artichoke leaf extract which they claim will protect your hair and creates a lived-in look with subtle shine. The consistency is like body cream and absorbs into the hair beautifully with no sticky residue. By the way, it smells really good! Nothing like other products I’ve tried on the market and is one of the reasons I love it so much! I feel like if chic had a smell, this would be it! It has violet, gardens, Ylang Ylang and white musk. Ouai now have this scent in a bottle called – Rue St Honore if you fancy the fragrance. (My fav Ouai fragrance is ‘Mercer Street’ – sorry I digress!)
How to use
Ouai suggest adding a dab to dry hair, however I add a dollop to damp hair and then blow dry and then add a pea size amount after styling to calm those fly aways on the crown and lengths and add a little extra to the ends. It really helps the ends look hydrated and healthy looking! Now I must say, if you add the finishing creme to damp hair and let your hair totally air dry, you might find it’s a little greasy – the key is to dry your hair when it’s 80% dry.
It’s literally a lotion for your hair and my hair feels nourished and softer – it’s a great product, it lasts. for ages and smells so good. I have tried to live without this product but I just don’t like my hair without it! It’s just not the same! I say yes Ouai!
I hope you have enjoyed my review of Quai finishing creme. I’d love to know if have you tried it? or thinking about trying it. What’s your favourite Ouai product and fragrance?
